Working on an interactive art installation

Please Do Touch (Yaniv Janson's Art) from nimbus media.

These most recent works of Yaniv Janson address issues of inequality and the issue of housing.

His work asks us to look at the how people feel about their living conditions and what kind of options are realistically available to all people to ensure that everyone has adequate housing.

Yaniv’s art draws the viewer in through the use of vibrant colour and then while he has our attention, simultaneously addresses the social justice of inadequate housing and poverty.

UNESCO Taking Action project

My 2nd book Changing the World - One Painting at a Time has been nominated by the UNESCO Asia Pacific Art Educators Hub as a teacher resource. People say the book encourages disabled youth to dream on their talents and inspires staff working with disabled people to support them to follow their passion. Click here to get to the screenshot pages below:

To follow up on this UNESCO nomination, I am doing a presentation tour and speak to disabled people and their families as well as their teachers and support workers. It is by taking such actions that we can inspire a mind shift and aim higher for the achievements of marginalised people.

The people I speak to said they are inspired to take action in their communities to provide the extra-support needed. It is by helping one disabled person at a time that we will eventually see a difference!

I am committed to reach further and fundraising to be able to make a difference with more people around me.

"The world according to me" Wallace Gallery Morrinsville exhibition opening Friday 12 November

"Climate Chains" is about the fact that our survival as human beings is dependent on everyone making serious efforts to change to more sustainable ways. The "Climate Chains" exhibition is about the feelings of frustration that people who care about the environment have about not being able to help others change their behavior.

See more details on the Wallace Gallery Morrinsville Website including more photos of the paintings and the curator write up.

Collaboration with GroundWork Associates: "Climate Change NOW!" Permanent Exhibition

A melting ice cap and its unpredictable consequences... Firstly you see an ice cap and then as it gets hotter and hotter it starts melting more and more. Ice cap melting (Acrylic on canvas, 150cm X 120cm)

It is great to work together with a consulting and research group that specialises on the topics close to my heart. GroundWork Associates (www.groundworkassociates.co.nz) have carried out a significant body of work for different organisations, including Government. That is why it was my pleasure to collaborate with them and offer my Climate Change works to serve as a backdrop to environmental issues being discussed.

Last on an activism note, see the Sustainable Waikato group formed by a group of citizens whose mission is to ensure we get the councillors that the city and the region deserve, councillors who are not single issue focussed. We want councillors who can assess a range of issues rationally and make decisions based on sound evidence, enhancing our region's sustainability in the near and intergenerational future".
